The following publications are currently available:

  • The Proskills Sector Skills Assessment for the UK
    Proskills completed the full Sector Skills Assessment for the UK in January 2010, and this document gives an overview of the current and future skills across the Process and Manufacturing sector. It draws on a range of primary and secondary sources such as the ABI, LFS, the UKCES Skills Almanac, Working Futures, and Proskills’ own surveys, including a major survey of employers and a survey of trade associations, both completed in 2009.

    This document forms part of the core remit for Proskills as a Sector Skills Council as detailed in the UKCES
    Information to Intelligence document.

    As well as the full UK report linked above, separate reports have also been produced for Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and for the English regions.
  • The Proskills Sector Skills Assessment Summary 2009
    This document gives an overview of the Process and Manufacturing sector, and a summary of the current and future skills needs relevant to the industries it contains. It draws on a range of primary and secondary sources and forms part of the core remit for Proskills as a Sector Skills Council.
  • Management and Leadership Survey – September 2009
    In July and August 2009 Proskills invited companies in its industries to complete an online questionnaire on issues in Management and Leadership skills. The objective was to seek feedback on the programme of training solutions which had been made available in 2007, but had suffered from low take-up.
  • The 2009 Employer Survey
    This report covers all eight of the current Proskills industries, and focuses on the effect that the recession has had on the skills needs in the sector. Separate reports are available for each of the industries in the sector and for each nation. To access these reports, please use the industry/nations links on the menu on the left.
  • The Proskills Annual Report 2008
    This is a short summary of the work carried out by Proskills during 2008, and contains an overview of research on the sector.
  • Workplace Learning Report 2008
    This report was the result of a more detailed look at workplace learning in the sector. It covers only the original five industries that formed Proskills: building products, coatings, extractive and mineral processing, glass and related industries, and printing.

  • Final Agreement – SSA Stage 5
    This is the final document that resulted from the Sector Skills Agreement, and contains a summary of the whole process and the resulting action plans.
