Vocational Qualifications Approvals
Proskills as an SSC is now responsible for approving vocational qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. This includes all VQs developed within the footprint of Proskills and covers VQs that are to be accredited onto the Qualifications & Credit Framework (QCF).
Qualifications will be approved against Proskills Vocational Qualifications Requirements and the Proskills Sector Qualifications Strategy and Action Plan. This will ensure that qualifications meet the requirements set by employers.
It is essential that employers are involved in this process, if you want to influence the qualifications that are available for your industry please contact lisa.williamson@proskills.co.uk
Proskills has developed a Procedures Manual that Awarding Bodies, Proskills and the Industry Qualification Reform Groups will be expected to follow.
For an introduction and overview of the VQ Approvals Process please see the Process Diagram that we have also developed.
