Options for Workshops
Delegates are asked to select 3 from the following options. Every attempt to give you the options of your first choice will be made, however, places will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis; a maximum of 40 delegates per breakout session has been allowed for.
Option 1: Inspirational Leadership

Option 2: Health and Safety Management
Your business has legal responsibilities to ensure the health and safety of your employees and other people affected by your business' activities, such as customers and suppliers. But the right approach isn't just about doing the minimum required to comply with the legal requirements. Effective Health and Safety practices can also benefit your business. This workshop will explore the cost implications to your business of poor health and safety practice as well as the benefits that can be achieved through effective Health and Safety Management, how to assess risks and develop policies and procedures that will protect your business, review and monitoring. Geoff Cox will be extolling the benefits of effective worker involvement, outlining the HSE's current 2 year programme of work, which aims to offer free training to employers, commencing 2010.

Option 4: BIT - Bill McIntyre
This workshop on Business Improvement Techniques will be an interactive session on driving business performance through business improvements. Business improvement techniques will look to improve Quality, Cost and delivery performance, ensure improvement activities are focused on the right business activities and look at developing staff so that improvements can be realised and sustained.
Option 5: Alternatives to Redundancy - George Cowcher
Even in difficult times there are alternative routes to cut business costs and loses before you have to make redundancies. This workshop will look at innovative ways to reduce expenditure by driving better performance and refining your business processes by considering the various alternatives there are to redundancies.
Option 6: Modular qualification introduction - Andrew Abaza - Proskills
The new regulatory framework, Qualifications and Credit Framework, aims to provide more flexible routes to gaining full qualifications, enabling progression to be achieved in smaller steps, with learners able to accumulate and transfer credits through units. This workshop on modular qualifications will be an introduction to the new Qualifications and Credit Framework, explaining the benefits of the modular learning approach and what will happen with NVQ’s.
Option 7: Round Table Discussion: Future Workforces- Trends and Developments in Manufacturing
